The Humane Society and Adoption Center at PAWS received a grant in 2006 from Pets for the Elderly that pays a portion of the adoption fee when seniors adopt senior pets.
For a limited time, PAWS is further reducing the adoption fee so that senior citizens adopting senior pets will be able to adopt a pet at no cost. This program is for pet-lovers over the age of sixty who are adopting dogs over
the age of one year or an adult cat. A reduction in adoption fees may also be available to seniors wanting to adopt pets of any age who have been at the shelter for longer than 60 days.
Pets must be of suitable temperament for senior adopters and all adopters must meet all adoption requirements.
