Rules of Participation in the Show

To become a member, you need to join the cat club in your city of residence. Club members will help with pet breeding issues.

To participate, you need to fill out an application form and pay for it. You also need to buy a carrier for the pet, in which it will be taken to the show (preferably – plastic, putting film under the bottom).

All the animals at the competition have their numbers. Beforehand, they are examined by a veterinarian, so you need to have a veterinary passport with the marks that the animal is vaccinated and treated for worms.

Before you go to the competition, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with all its features.

General requirements are as follows:

  • Registration for the show is carried out in advance (this is necessary so that the data about the animal was entered in the catalog);
  • When filling out the application, it is required to specify all the information about the pet;
  • If the data changes after filling out the application, you need to inform the members of the show committee;
  • A veterinary examination, prior to registration of participants, is a mandatory part of the event;
  • If an application is submitted for participation in an event not of the club the animal belongs to, it is necessary to find out in advance to which felinological organization the exhibition belongs and the licenses of which organizations the experts have, and also to specify whether the previously issued titles will be counted;
  • You can not be late to the show, otherwise – the show staff can simply not be allowed to participate;
  • When accepting applications, members of the exhibition committee should warn participants about how much the veterinary examination costs, as well as the need to provide passports indicating the time of vaccination and veterinary certificates;
  • Before the show, you should check with the organizer to see if the pet can be placed in the exhibitor’s cage;
  • If you do not have your own cage, it is better to find out in advance what size and type it should be;
  • The animal should not have even minor injuries (scratches, bites, abrasions), including those received during the mating, as this can affect the evaluation of the expert;
  • The presence of serious injuries (eye wounds, broken tail, etc.) is an obstacle to participation in the show;
  • Sick pets, animals with aesthetic appearance disadvantages such as lameness, blindness, cats in the second half of pregnancy or lactating cats are not allowed to participate in the competition;
  • Aggressive animals (such as those that do not let themselves out of their cages) cannot take part in the examination, but in some cases the owner may bring the pet to the examination table himself;
  • The owner of the animal has no right to address the judge before and during the examination (otherwise the participant can be forcibly removed from the event, without refund of the paid fee, as well as with deprivation of titles and grades).

How to prepare a cat for an exhibition

Before the event, it is recommended:

  • Give the cat all age-appropriate vaccinations;
  • give it a worming treatment;
  • protect the cat from injuries and scratches;
  • clip the cat’s nails;
  • comb out its hair with a fine-toothed comb;
  • clean the cat’s ears or, if this is allowed by the standard, pluck the hair on the top of the ears;
  • bathe the cat with cotton balls in its ears;
  • If an animal is long-haired, take him to the groomer.

For 2-3 weeks before the event four-legged friend can be transferred to food for kittens or pregnant cats, or containing large amounts of protein. The main thing is to make sure that the pet is not allergic to the new food.

3-4 weeks before the competition you should additionally add to the diet:

  • Carrots to enhance the color of the coat, if it is red;
  • seaweed, as it makes the color of the eyes brighter;
  • foods rich in vitamin B and biotin (to stimulate coat growth).

It is important to put an overweight pet on a discharge diet about 5-6 weeks before the event.

For an exhibition to go well, you need to prepare for it. The animal must be clean, neat and without any visible defects. It is highly desirable to check all the features of participation with the organizers in a timely manner.
